Last month, BP4K attended the Red Cross’, “Christmas in November,” event in Memphis, TN. Over 600 of our backpacks were distributed. These backpacks originated from our recently opened US operations center in Louisville, KY. BP4K’s Chairman, Stacey Bie, Director of Procurement, Cassandra Zelesnikar, and Director of IT, Erik Copeland met on a brisk Saturday morning at Bowman Airfield to load up the backpacks. Cassandra and Stacey drove them out to Memphis and were met there by BP4K founder William Vaughan.
“Like many other 501c3 non-profits… we relay on donations and grants to do this work. BP4K was started and continues to be operated by UPS pilots and employees who care about the plight of displaced children.
In 2023, we provided over 1,300 backpacks overseas and here in the USA. And $40,000 in humanitarian aid to children affected by the earthquake in Turkey.
The backpacks stop when the money runs out….
Thank you to all who give.”. – Bill ‘Stevie Ray’ Vaughan
Please consider donating to Backpack4kids this holiday season.
Last, BP4K is planning another, “Build-a-backpack-day,” in Louisville in the near future. Stay tuned for details.
